Roland Blain was born in Port-au-Prince in 1934. At a young age he love to draw and was attracted by art books and magazines. In 1959 he joined Joseph Jacop at the “Foyer des arts plastiques” where he learned painting. Passionate about music he founded an orchestra and stop painting for a while. But in 1969 he began to paint again and developed his own style. in 1976 his exhibition at Gallery Monnin was the talk of town. His jungles, Exotic colors, paradisiac surreal scenes with animals and birds became very successful and sought after by collectors around the world. Today, works by Roland Blain are very rare and valuable.
